What is a cake smash?
A cake smash is a playful studio session built around your child's first birthday. We create a themed, colourful setup, and your baby is given a cake to explore, squish and enjoy — all captured as it happens.
The best age
Around the first birthday, from about 11 to 13 months, is ideal — old enough to sit and interact with the cake, young enough for that pure, unfiltered reaction.
How the session works
We start with clean, dressed portraits, then bring in the cake for the smash, and often finish with a little bubble bath to clean up. It is relaxed and led entirely by your child's mood.
Outfits and setup
We build the colour scheme and props around your theme, and outfits are part of the styling. You just bring your baby — we take care of the rest, including the cake if you wish.
