You live in one of the few cities on earth where you can drive forty minutes and stand in an empty landscape at sunset. A studio can be built anywhere. This cannot. If you are raising a family in Dubai, this is the frame that will say so in twenty years.
Al Qudra and the Lahbab red dunes for scale and colour. Al Marmoom for cleaner, quieter ridgelines. If you would rather have water than sand, the Jumeirah coastline at the same hour gives you a completely different, cooler palette.
We meet roughly two hours before sunset. Wardrobe change happens on location. We work through the light as it drops — the last fifteen minutes, when the sun is under the ridge and the sky goes copper, are usually where the best frames come from. Flat shoes to walk in, heels for the frames.
Sand is warm but not painful at that hour. We bring water and a changing shelter. October through April is comfortable
