Maternity photoshoot poses & ideas

You do not need to know any poses — but a few simple ideas help you feel ready and relaxed.

You will be guided through everything

The most important thing to know: you do not need to practise poses. We direct you gently through each frame, adjusting hands, angle and light so the bump reads beautifully and you feel comfortable.

Poses that flatter the bump

A slight turn to the side, hands cradling the bump from top and bottom, weight on the back foot — small adjustments make the bump read clearly and the body look elegant. Flowing fabric adds movement and softness.

With your partner

Some of the strongest maternity frames include a partner — hands over the bump, a forehead touch, standing close. We keep it natural rather than stiff.

With older children

A small child pressed against the bump, a hand on the belly — children bring honesty to a maternity session, and there is no extra charge for a partner or your own children.

What to avoid

Over-posed, stiff positions and busy backgrounds date quickly. We keep the focus on you, the bump and the light — simple, timeless and emotional.

Questions we get asked

Before you ask

No. We guide you through every frame, so you can relax and simply follow along.
What week is best for these poses?
Between week 27 and 34, when the bump is round and you are still comfortable moving.
Can my partner and children join?
Yes, at no extra charge. Some of the best frames include them.
