What to wear for a family photoshoot in Dubai

Coordinate, do not match

Matching everyone in identical outfits looks dated. Instead pick a palette of two or three soft, complementary tones — cream and sand, sage and stone, dusty blue and grey — and let each person wear a different piece within it. The photographs feel effortless rather than staged.

Fabrics and textures that photograph well

Flowing fabrics, linen, knits and soft cottons move and catch light beautifully. Avoid stiff, shiny synthetics. A little texture — a knit cardigan, a linen dress — adds depth that a flat block colour cannot.

What to avoid

Skip loud logos, busy patterns and bright neon — they pull the eye away from faces. Very dark and very bright pieces next to each other can also unbalance a group. When in doubt, go softer and lighter.

Dressing little ones

Children are most photogenic when they are comfortable. Choose soft, non-scratchy fabrics and bring a change of clothes for the youngest. Barefoot or simple shoes usually look best.
