Desert photoshoot in Dubai
The dunes at golden hour give you warmth and scale no studio can fake — here is how to plan a desert session that actually works.
The best desert spots
The dunes around Al Qudra and the desert edge outside the city give clean, rolling sand without crowds. We scout quiet pockets away from the busy tour routes so your photographs feel private and timeless.
The only time that works: golden hour
A desert session is shot in the hour before sunset, or just after sunrise. The low sun turns the sand amber, softens every face and keeps the heat bearable. Midday desert light is harsh and unflattering, so we never shoot then.
What to wear
Flowing fabrics move beautifully in the desert breeze — long dresses in neutral tones: cream, sand, dusty rose. For maternity, our gown wardrobe travels with us. Avoid busy patterns and bright synthetics that fight the warm palette.
Staying comfortable
We bring water, keep the session efficient and plan around the cooler months (October to April). Bare feet or flats work best on sand; bring sandals for the walk in. For newborns and small babies we recommend the studio instead.
Who it suits
Desert sessions are stunning for maternity, families and portraits — the scale and warmth suit a bump, a running toddler or a couple. Tell us your vision and we will match the dune, the light and the hour.
