Is newborn photography safe?

Posing is never left to chance

The composite poses you see online — where a baby appears to hold their own head — are always two frames merged in editing, with an assistant's hands supporting the baby in every shot. A newborn is never balanced or left unsupported. If a pose is not safe, we do not attempt it.

A warm, calm room

Newborns settle best when they are warm. We keep the room at around 26 to 28 degrees, use white noise, and move at the baby's pace. A session takes two to three hours because most of it is feeding, settling and waiting — never rushing.

Hygiene

Wraps, bonnets and props are cleaned and sanitised between every session, and we wash and sanitise our hands throughout. If your baby is unwell on the day, we simply reschedule.

Why at-home can be the calmest option

For a newborn session there is no need to put a nine-day-old in a car. We bring the beanbag, wraps, lighting and props to your living room, so your baby stays warm in their own space and feeds and rests on their own schedule. It is often calmer than a studio visit.

You are in the room the whole time

Parents are present and involved throughout. You feed, soothe and hold your baby whenever needed — the session is built around your baby, not the other way around.
